What We Do

JASCAP with its pro-active and knowledge-based approach, is committed to providing educational material and advice pertaining to cancer, its diagnosis and its management to cancer patients, their families and caregivers. JASCAP’s main activities range from providing cancer related information (booklets and audio-visual material) in various Indian languages such as Hindi, Marathi, Kannada, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, and Malayalam and in English to bestowing financial, emotional and social support to cancer patients and their families. We hope, our activities help cancer patients and their caregivers to bravely meet the challenges they face in coping with this dreaded disease.

The major activities of JASCAP are four fold:

(1) To empower people by providing them information pertaining to cancer and its management. To fulfill this particular goal we publish and distribute (sell at a nominal price) a series of booklets and information brochures in various Indian languages such as Hindi, Marathi, Kannada, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, and Malayalam and in English, at our bookstall located at the Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai India, as well as on line. JASCAP also provides audio-visual CDs and DVDs on cancer and its management.

(2) To offer financial assistance to cancer patients and cancer survivors for diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation, especially to paediatric cancer patients.

(3) To generate cancer awareness among people.

(4) To promote activities relating to prevention, early diagnosis and early treatment of cancer.
