History Of JASCAP

Mrs. Neera P. Rao and Mr. Prabakhar K. Rao lost their son Satyajit (Jeet) to cancer. Jeet suffered from T-Cell lymphoma from December 1995 to May 1996 in Denver, Colorado in the U.S.A. Jeet passed away on the 23rd May 1996 in Denver. Mr. and Mrs. Rao then decided to channel their grief for Jeet into constructive activity directed towards support to cancer patients and their families and caregivers in India.

Accordingly, JASCAP (Jeet Association for Support to CAncer Patients) was registered as a Society on the 16th October 1996 and as a Public Charitable Trust on 18th December 1996. Income Tax Exemption (under section 80 G(1) of the Income Tax Act, 1961) has been obtained for donations to JASCAP.
